Bill Buddy is a local-first app for tracking bills, EMIs, subscriptions, due dates, reminders, and payment history. This policy explains what information the app handles.
Bill Buddy is developed and published by Hemangbhai (hemangbhai.in).
Bill Buddy stores the payment information you enter or confirm in the app, such as provider name, category, amount, bill date, due date, recurrence, payment status, and payment history. App settings, reminder preferences, and app-lock settings are also stored locally on your device.
This information is not uploaded to Bill Buddy servers. Bill Buddy does not require an account or registration, and the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting service of its own.
If you choose to share text from another app with Bill Buddy, the app processes the shared text on your device to identify possible bill details, such as the sender, amount, due date, bill number, or card last four digits. The original full message is not retained after parsing. Parsed details remain on your device only if you confirm the bill or while a pending suggestion is waiting for your decision. Shared text is never transmitted anywhere.
With your permission, Bill Buddy posts local payment reminders. The app may receive the Android device-reboot event only to reschedule those local reminders after a restart. Bill Buddy does not read your SMS inbox and does not request SMS-reading permissions.
Bill Buddy displays advertisements, in a banner and between screens, using Google Mobile Ads. To serve those ads, Google and its partners may collect and process your advertising ID and other device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, diagnostics, and information about your interactions with ads, under their own policies.
Bill Buddy does not send your bill records, payment history, or shared message text to advertisers. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.
For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Bill Buddy keeps a daily backup of your records inside the app's own private storage on your phone. You can also export a JSON backup file at any time, and import one back. An exported file is created locally and is stored or shared only where you choose, so you are responsible for protecting it.
Automatic backups stay on the phone: they are listed and can be deleted one by one in the app's Settings, and they are removed when the app is uninstalled.
New versions of Bill Buddy are delivered by Google Play. The app asks Google Play whether a newer version is available; it does not download or install applications or code from any other source.
You can delete individual payments in the app, and delete individual automatic backups in Settings. Uninstalling Bill Buddy removes its locally stored app data, subject to Android's backup and device-management settings. Exported files must be deleted separately from the location where you saved them.
Bill Buddy is intended for adults, is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. For questions about this policy, contact hello@hemangbhai.in.
