MyStockPortfolio — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026 · Applies to the Android app MyStockPortfolio
(package mystock.portfolio)
The short version: MyStockPortfolio has no account, no sign-up and no cloud database. Your portfolio — holdings, quantities, purchase prices, notes, family members — is stored only in a database on your own device. We never receive it, and there is no server of ours that could hold it.
1. What stays on your device
- Your holdings, quantities, purchase and sale prices, dates, notes and transaction history.
- Family or shared portfolio names you create.
- Your app settings: theme, refresh interval, chosen indices, selected owner.
All of this lives in an app-private database. It is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. Backups you create (JSON or CSV) are written to a location you choose and are under your control — we have no access to them.
2. What leaves your device
Only what is needed to show a price, and only to a public market data feed:
- Stock ticker symbols (for example
RELIANCE.NS) and index symbols, sent over HTTPS to a public Yahoo Finance market feed to fetch quotes. - Standard technical request data that any internet request carries (IP address, app user agent).
Your quantities, purchase prices, portfolio value and transaction history are never included in those requests. The app has no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no tracking and no advertising identifier of its own.
3. Advertising
The app shows a single banner advert, served by Google AdMob, on the transactions screen. To serve adverts, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share with Google:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Device or other identifiers (including the advertising ID) | Advertising, ad measurement and fraud prevention |
| Approximate, coarse device and app information (app version, device model, language) | Ad delivery and reporting |
This data is handled under Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, and opt out of personalised advertising, in Android Settings → Google → Ads.
Nothing about your portfolio is shared with advertisers — the ad SDK never sees it.
4. Permissions and why
- Internet — to fetch market prices and to load the banner advert.
- Network state — to show an honest "offline, showing saved prices" state instead of a blank screen.
- Advertising ID (declared by the Ads SDK) — for the banner advert only.
The app does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or SMS.
5. Children
The app is intended for adults who manage their own investments and is not directed at children under 18.
6. Your choices
- Delete everything: uninstall the app, or use Android Settings → Apps → MyStockPortfolio → Storage → Clear data.
- Opt out of personalised ads: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.
- Use it fully offline: the app works without a network and shows the last saved prices.
7. Not investment advice
MyStockPortfolio displays prices from a public feed for information only. It is not a broker, does not execute trades, is not registered with SEBI or any other regulator, and does not provide investment advice. Verify every price with your broker before acting on it.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted in the app's "What's new" on the Play Store.
