About

I make quiet things that work.

Apps, tools and websites, built on my own time. I would rather ship something small that behaves perfectly than something large that mostly works.

How I work

Four habits I do not skip.

These show up in every project, whether it is an app, a site, or a small internal tool.

01

Start with the smallest useful version

Ship the one thing that solves the actual problem, then let real use tell us what to add. Features that arrive without evidence tend to be the ones nobody touches.

02

Measure before optimising

Slow pages are usually slow for two or three specific reasons. I find them with real numbers instead of guessing, then fix the ones that matter and leave the rest alone.

03

Accessible by default

Keyboard focus, sensible headings, contrast that passes, form fields that announce themselves. It is cheaper to build it in than to bolt it on later.

04

Write so the next person understands

Clear names, comments where the reasoning is not obvious, and a README that assumes no context. Including for my own future self.

How it fits together

Three things I keep coming back to.

Where most of my time ends up.

Toolkit

Grouped by where it is used.

Comfortable, not precious. If a project needs something else, I will learn it.

Android
Kotlin · Jetpack Compose · Material 3 · Room & offline storage · Play Console releases
Web
HTML · modern CSS · JavaScript · accessibility · responsive layout · performance budgets
Small tools
shell scripts · REST APIs · scheduled jobs · small CLIs · data wrangling
Everyday
Git · Linux & shell · REST APIs · Figma handoff · a terminal I am happy in

Next step

If that sounds like someone you need, say hello.

The most useful first message tells me what you are building and what is currently in the way of it.
